The Evolution of Media

The genrations of hip-hop has been around for a long time from underground clubs to just having people rapping on the streets.  It's also produced many other sub generes such as christain raps example : Kanye West. Aswell it has come to provide millions of people with artists such as Eminem, Dre and Snoop Dogg.  These three rap artists have had the biggest impact on hip-hop ever slowly revolutionizing the way artists are today. From slow beats revolving around marijuana and how relaxing it is to the straight up gangster raps where they go all out about dissing or killing people. Also known as gang banging but they still have beats that go with what ever they do there freestyles are amazing in such ways that to be able to spit words off the top of their heads and make sense in rhyming is considerably more difficult than you might think. Most freestyles are agressive or about women who have caught the mc's eye. The art of producing music comes from deep within and has to come out naturally without losing wording or syablles and bring out the deepest thoughts you have to create a song or album with what ever is important in your life. Some artists have taken the classic beats of drums and the snare drum to a new level of sounds with techno remixs to it and or a high pitched voice called auto-tune it makes the voice distorted causing a sound that makes your music sound better or alot or worse depending on the persons preferences. Artists also get there inspiration to sing from drugs or alcohol to explain an experience of the party life that they had to get a message out to people its not that bad to party and have fun aswell to show their selfs off to the world and show girls how much they have so they can get laid.  Gangster rappers have been raised in hoods where they were terroized by other gang members and under the stress of being shot at from anywhere if you didn't watch your back so they tell you the life of how hard it was to live in a ghetto and survive coming out with getting money or how there is drama in their life so they start rapping how they wanna bang them out and eventually word spreads and more violence may arise but thats just the life they have in there knowing you could die at any moment would just terrize the mind of some.  Most rappers are drug dealers such as Wiz Khalifa rolling and selling pot for a living along with rapping about his life, all other rappers usually sell drugs to people to make that extra money on the side along with their rap career that seems to bring them in money like no tommorow so they still work hard to make money for themselves even tho it is illegal they still sing aloud about it and seem to rarely get caught.  Young artist today have slowly been making there way up by going around and handing out advertisements for bettering an income or to just get more known in the community, the best idea for artists is to bring there friends and get their friends to get people and eventually that artist will be making a living off of singing or if anything they could just make it by getting a signed record deal that could bring in thousands if not millions depending on the spread of the companys local buying area for music stores or where ever they might be able to sell there Cd to make a profit.  Akon is another rapper that has told stories of changing lives like singing about Africa to show his origins that help enhance his personal image of having respect for the cultural background of himself along with songs about girls and other things such as drugs and alcohol or dancing in clubs also known as the party life for a rap star or anyone with alot of money. When an artist has a featured singer come in to sing with them they usually have beef or showing the world that they have made a friendship together depending on how the song goes it would deffine weather or not their gangs will continue to have beef or just get over what ever has been going on usually due to the drug economy and wanting one anothers money resorces causing huge amount of gang violence but this gives singers more to sing about and show the world the troubles of drugs or have them provide it to the audience they are singing to. Everything always depends on the type of person you want to be when you get on stage and hard ass who will throw a punch or get hot tempered at almost anything or be one of those prissey boys that sing in high pitched voices who will later get destroyed in freestyle by the hard ass. The main goal of being a rapper is getting your point across and getting money along with girls for the purpose of boosting a self image the artists wishes to prosper in causing their self to look cooler or fresh as some would say. Overall the hip hop world is full of people who get together to sing about there times, drugs parties and the ladies they love thats the out look most have on the way  the underground scene is taken in the image of the public but people will always have their own opinons on the out take of how it is.

Movie#2: Winnebago Man
Jack Redney is a sales man for a R.V commercial that for some strange reason people can't remember. Ben Steinbauer is a movie maker who takes interest in "winnebago man" climbing to the top of a mountain just to try and find him. After finding him they take questions on how he felt and thought about the film. After a while they find that Jack is blind so they decide to help him around. They go to a show where they tell people of Jack Redney and his movie how it managed to make him an internet star giving him a brand new fly swatter as a prize. One of the funniest movies ever seen for a commercial ad.

Movie#3: Scratch
A movie made of the point of view of Mc's and Dj's alike showing the growing and expansion of hip-hop at an early stage into the later years of todays genres. This movie tells tales of famous Turntablism Dj's such as the beastie boys Dj "mike" one of the ealier Djs. It also shows a few beats that the artists had come up with to give an example of how well the music is that comes out of such  an art of music. Also a view Mc's show off skills showing it from clubs where Mc's think off the top of there head lyrics to spit and get the club going. Its an amazing video that shows true skills on both vocal and turntablism a must watch.

Blog Assignment #4: RiP: ARemixManifesto

Pre- blogging disscussion questions.
If a song is originally copyrighted , if you use a certain beat for only certain parts of the song than it wouldn't techincally be a problem in my point of view because of the difference inbetween. Some artists  figured they could make money off of it, So they decided to sue for their own reasons. Not entirely, its just a part of life depending on what you do in your day. Such as watching T.v or Youtube.  Studied the era of Djs and the rapping of some mc's.  Ballroom dancing such as classical music jazz or older blues.  Internet has helped the general expantion of artists, Youtube helped multipul artists like Tech n9ne and Justin beiber.  The few songs that are able to play should have a small fee, or else some publishing of the original artist that helps them expand there fame in the general public because of the use of the brand name they used in that video.
Assignment.
The maker of the film is an artist that remixs the ideas that other artists had and they put it into a compilation of random sounds that continue to make a techno beat.  His intention of this film was to just try and express the idea of the ability for other people to make compilations of other music enough so that they can make their own brand or idea to music or just flat out make fun of the original artists. I agree because a large part of the population still listen to the other songs and if they don't they might enjoy the making of the remixs. The opposing side of the film view didn't see the full extents to what they were trying to reach specificly why they didn't want the music remixed if the people didn't like the original they could listen to a song that made them have the feel of an up beat song and could still listen to the original if it was liked.  It should be aloud because if you get the idea off a song and add on to it, thats still a different song you just added your own personal opinon on it and went further into your own thought with it. Along with some reconition it wouldn't be bad if they payed a little bit like a copyright fee of lets say a dollar per song it wouldn't be a total loss. The argument was constructed well because it was taken from the perspective of the person who made money off the film and went into an argument on how he should be able to continue the work he has, it also opens the doorway for other artists to possibly get famous off the music they perform.

Blog Assignment #3

Silent films are a thing of the past, new films today consist of constant explosions shooting scenes or extreme movie detail. Silent films still show the basis of the need for the video taking possibility, but the need for sound and intensified video effect are a constent must, just flat out makes for better entertainment for the eyes and ears. Silent films have awsome old time movie monster films such as Frankenstein (1910) would be an example for a classic monster movie, who hasn't heard of Frankenstein. Another example would be of the movie The Green Eyed Monster. Any monster movie back than was a huge success depending on some classic components of chase scenes, or people dramaticly die, underwater beasts swallowing, but the new graphic capabilities just blow the compotition of silent films away for any capabilities of being better. Godzilla was a great movie with people dying flaming breathe and a whole bunch of city destruction, oddly enough everything needed to make a great monster movie. Alot of serial killer films in the silent film era would consist of  a man a mask jumping out of bushes or alleys dragging people off by covering their mouth and doing what ever a serial killer does to his victims. The  famous addition to the serial killer film era would have to be Saw, a old man capturing people with an assistant making them go through extreme lengths to save their lives. Usually the person dies and the assassin is never found by authorities. Just the new ideas people come up with now a days is fancy to a viewers eyes (Saw, grousome effects) and to the ears a suspensful scene where a killer jumps out with so much emphesis on when the killer grabs their victim and everyone jumps outta there seats. Just so many new ideas and effects that can be added onto a movie, making silent films no longer in need but a great way to experience movies when they didn't have the effects recent technology has been able to accomplish.

EMS30 - Assignment #1: Media Profile And Blog

1. I believe media is important in my life because it brings information into my mind and broadens my knowledge of the world. Aswell it helps me keep a stable mind, without media in my life I wouldn't know what to do in my spare time.

2. Three important forms of media in my life are newspapers, radio and computers they all are used on a mass scale and give information from all over the world or right in your town but they all give you the basic idea of whats going on around you.

3. Popculture now a days revolve around singers and reality T.V shows which to me is fine because it's what people do for their own entertainment. The new technology people are coming up with during out generation is making life by far easier to get a hold of people (i.e Cell phones, Computers). Some things I dislike in our way of living is nothing, it's just the way things are and I'm fine with them. The way life is now helps me ease my mind with video games, music and blogging sites (i.e Facebook) it helps pass the time.

4.  The type of media that has the biggest impact on how I am would be music. Constantly listening to music listening about how people live and how they live in fame makes me wanna make my life better in order to feel how they feel. A favourite artist of mine is Tupac, he was true about who he was and explained his feelings through his lyrics. He may have been a thug but he continued to do with what he thought was right, he was dedicated. Him singing hasn't changed who I am but it influenced me to be who I really wanna be and do what I feel is right and that should be the main goal to people in my mind.
